Christina Pippen of Binette Flora and Fauna
“And the day came when the risk to remain tight in a bud was more painful than the risk it took to blossom.” — Anaïs Nin
Binette Flora and Fauna was created out of my desire to work with my hands in the natural world, to create beauty out of a fleeting medium — flowers. I grew up in my own outdoor fantasy land, constructing Hobbit-holes out of vines and branches, laying belly down in a forested carpet of violets and spring beauties. The outdoors gave way to many years behind the scenes in theatre design, creating temporary environments of fantasy and excitement. A career in graphic design and marketing taught me how to run a business of creativity. Binette brings my experiences so far full circle.
So I will express the beauty of a beautiful, ephemeral time and space - a wedding, a special event, a photo shoot - through wild foraged flora and the finest available blooms. My flowers are moody, wild, romantic and evocative of place - just like the people for which they are designed. Click here to send me a note - I'd love to hear your floral inspiration and design obsessions.
